One of the Winter ‘chores’ I look forward to is on warmer sunny days pulling up Koi and doing some spot checking, or evaluating them for progress. Today was an absolutely beautiful day in North Carolina, with bright blue skies, and a temp. of 68 F,... a perfect day for playing at the farm. Even after such a long cold period, and 2 major snows all of the Koi look incredibly healthy and robust,... though I have some major repairs to do to mud ponds, bird netting and other equipment from snow and ice damage.
Here are a couple of snapshots,... one a 20 month Goshiki born here in early Summer of 2009, and the other a female Kohaku that was born here in the Spring of 2008.
I will likely have some video posted of these Koi and a few others soon.
