Pond #8 was harvested today.  This pond contained Koi born in the early summer of 2008,... so they went in as 12 month olds, and are 17 months old now.  Most of my harvests have happened in the rain this Fall, and todays was too,... but wet and muddy is wet and muddy, and the harvests must go on.  Here are some snapshots from the day.

The look of an immature 17 month old female Utsuri straight out of the mud can be a little unflattering,... but at this stage the frame and placement of sumi are what we’re looking at.  I’ll likely post some follow-up pics in a few weeks when she’s had a chance to adjust to filtered water.
