6/8/10 - The Beginning Of Summer,...

Spring is such a busy time here on the farm.  Many details have to be taken care of in a short period of time,... and they have to be taken care of with thought and precision to get quality results.  Mission accomplished!  My spawning is done for the season, and the farm is up and running at full speed for the summer!  I’m truly pleased with what I have here so far,... 3 Kohaku parings were spawned, 2 Showa pairs, 1 Sanke set, 1 Goshiki set, as well as Chagoi, and Ki Utsuri.  It’s a great start,... but so much work left to do between now and the Fall.  I’ll have updates on culling and other farm adventures throughout the summer.

With spawning and the moving of older Koi to the grow-out ponds complete, I’ve had some time to visit with clients here at the farm lately, and have enjoyed catching up.  Here are some snapshots of Koi pulled up for viewing, or shipped lately.

A female Yamabuki Ogon and young female Kohaku being prepped for shipping to Texas.

A close look at the fukurin and thick hikari sheen of a 36 month old Yamabuki Ogon.

24 month old female Kohaku,... notice the thick shoulder, snout, and tail tube,... a great start to a powerful show frame.
