Today was a typical sorting/harvest day,... it started early, and it was a hot, sweaty, physically demanding day,... but the payoff was incredible,... a huge Kohaku crop that I’m very pleased with. The numbers this year are just phenomenal! When I began seining today the green pond water in front of the seine became red,... as the Kohaku tosai began gathering in front of the net. This sight backed up what I’ve been seeing in the earlier culls this year! The quality and the size of these tosai are the best I’ve produced to date.
Over 400 of these excellent 2010 tosai Kohaku will be available for sale at my Fall Harvest Sale coming up in just a few weeks. Here are a few snapshots of some of the tosai Kohakus that will be available for sale! Normally i don't let this high quality go at this age and size,... but the numbers are great this year,... so I'm letting some incredible tosai go. These are just harvested,.... many at 9inches at only 4 months old,... and are ideal for growing large,... direct from the breeder’s pond to you,... not stunted, not compromised, not color enhanced! Notice the size of the heads and mouths, the sheen and quality of skin, the artistic patterning, even thick hi plates, and thick wide bodies.
