Spring is in full swing in North Carolina now! The trees are green again, pollen is floating, and my farm workload is back to full throttle.
This Spring’s improvements include 2 new mud ponds for tosai, and the renovation of 2 older mud ponds. I spent the last few days on a dozer molding these new ponds into shape, and they’ve been prepped and seeded, and are filling now. This will even further improve the numbers and quality of Koi produced here at Lotus Land Koi Farm.
My 2011 breeding schedule includes Kohaku, Sanke, Showa, Goshiki, Hariwwake, Chagoi, and Yamabuki Ogon. If my karma is good breeding will start here next week.
A fire pit I dug up about 3 feet down,... I have to wonder how old it is,... was it 100 years ago, or 1000 years ago,... and who were the people sitting around this fire when it was burning?
Also some interesting markings on a boulder about 2’ x 3’ across. I have no idea if these circles and triangle are coincidence and random markings, or if this unearthed stone was used as part of a tool many years ago.
